Mulapeta Port Coal Berth is a planned coal berth at Mulapeta Port, formerly called Bhavanapadu Port, in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]
Location
The berth is part of the greenfield port at Mulapeta in Srikakulam district.
Background
The first-phase plan of Mulapeta Port comprises one coal berth and three general-cargo berths. The reported 23.5-million-tonne annual capacity is for the entire first-phase port, not solely for coal. The Government of Andhra Pradesh reported construction underway in its 2024–25 survey, while a 2026 brochure from the port's construction contractor continued to identify a coal berth among the works.[2][3]
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways listed Mulapeta among ports under construction in February 2026. It is planned for operations in November 2026.[4]
