Background

Oktyabrinsky Coal Mine (разрез Октябринский) is a SURFACE mine in Kiselevsk, Kemerovo Oblast, Russia.

It is not to be confused with Oktyabrskaya coal mine, which is an underground mine. Oktyabrinsky Coal Mine is a surface mine that operates on the territory of the old underground mine Krasny Kuzbass.[4][5]

It is understood that Razrez Oktyabrinsky JSC is owned by private individuals.

In 2019, the mine produced 0.374 million tonnes of coal.[6] There are no 2020 and 2021 production figures available. However, in the first half of 2022, the mine produced only 0.048 million tonnes, which was 39% lower than in the same period in 2021.[7] It therefore appears that the mine's production has declined to about 0.1 Mtpa in 2021-2022

In 2023 the mine celebrated its 25th anniversary.[5]
