Background

North Block consists of two mines: Kelubir Coal Mine and Ardimulyo Coal Mine, while the South Block is divided into two separate mines, namely Sekayan coal mine, and Mangkupadi Coal Mine. [2] Currently, PKN operates two open-pit mines in Kelubir and Sekayan. Almost all PKN's low-rank coal product is destined for export markets, notably India and China, with the rest distributed in the domestic market. The coal is mainly used for power generation.
