Prophecy Coal Corp., formerly Prophecy Resource Corporation, is a Canadian mining company with interests in a nickel, base metals, vanadium and copper/molybdenum projects in Canada. The company also has interests in three coal projects in Mongolia and an associated coal-fired power station.
Coal interests in Mongolia
Prophecy Coal has interests in the following Mongolia coal projects:
- the Ulaan Ovoo mine, an open-cut coal mine located 10 km from the Russian border and 120 km from both Mongolian and Russian rail links.[1]
- the Chandgana Coal Project - a proposed 600 megawatt pit-mouth coal fired power plant to be built in conjunction with the Chandgana Tal coal mine.[2]
