SSAB Oxelösund steel plant is a steel plant in Oxelösund, Södermanlands, Sweden that operates electric arc furnace (EAF), basic oxygen furnace (BOF), and blast furnace (BF) technology.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the plant in Oxelösund, Södermanlands, Sweden:
- Location: SE-613 80 Oxelösund, Sweden
- Coordinates (WGS 84): 58.670789, 17.127786 (exact)
Background
SSAB aims to convert the SSAB Oxelösund steel plant blast furnace (BF) to a 100% renewables-based hydrogen direct reduced iron (H-DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) facility by 2025.[1] SSAB plans to bring fossil-free steel to the steel market by 2026 through operations at the SSAB Oxelösund steel plant.[1]
