Background

Taybinsky coal mine (разрез Тайбинский) is a SURFACE mine in Kiselyovsk, Kemerovo, Russia.

The Taybinsky coal mine is owned and operated by Invest-Uglesbyt LLC.[4] It is the only mine owned by the company and consists of two sections Aktashsky-1 and Aktashsky-2. It appears that Invest-Uglesbyt is owned by Razrez Yuzhny LLC.[5][6]

Invest-Uglesbyt was founded in 2002-2003 on the basis of the liquidated underground mine Taybinskaya in the city of Kiselyovsk.[7] The mine is located in the city of Kiselyovsk. The area is heavily mined. Right next to the Taibinsky coal mine is Prokopyevsky coal mine.

As of 2021, most of the coal was exported - to China and to the EU countries such as Romania and Slovakia.[8]

In the first half of 2022, the mine produced 773 thousand tonnes, which was 4% below the same period in 2021.[9]

A video report about the mine's operations and re-cultivation initiatives was made available in July 2023. The report mentions the plan to increase the mine's production, but no parameters were presented.[10] Another video report from August referred to the mine's current capacity of 1.5-2 Mtpa.[11]
