Background on Mine

The mine is an underground operation with a designed capacity of 0.6 MTPA on a lease area of 520 Ha. It is operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India. The coal is primarily for use for Satpura Thermal Power Station after the exhaustion of the Pathakhera underground mines which supplied the coal to the plant before.
