Background on Mine

The proposed Venkatesh Khani Coal mine (VK Coal mine) project is an opencast cum underground mine and is an amalgamation of existing Goutham Khani opencast mine (GK OC), Padmavathi Khani No.5 Incline (PVK No.5) underground mine and closed Venkatesh Khani No.7 (VK No.7) underground mine of Kothagudem area.

Currently, construction is under progress, and the commencement of production is expected to start from 2024.
