Surat Basin Railway

The Surat Basin Railway is, QR National states, "is expected to be approximately 210 km in length and is expected to connect Queensland Rail's Western system near Wandoan (230 km north-west of Toowoomba) with QR National's Moura system near Banana (130 km west of Gladstone)." The proposed railway is also occasionally referred to the the Southern Missing Link.[1]

ABARE lists the $1 billion project as being proposed by a consortium of Queensland Rail, ATEC and Xstrata Coal. ABARE states that the project would have a capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum.[2]
