Background

Mangalore JSW Coal Terminal is located at Berth 16 of the New Mangalore Port in Panambur, Karnataka, India. It is a mechanized bulk terminal developed to handle coal other than coal reserved for the captive Udupi power station at the adjacent Mangalore Adani Coal Terminal. The concession was awarded to a consortium led by Chettinad Builders Private Limited, which established a special-purpose company to implement the project. Construction was completed on May 22, 2019, and commercial operations began on November 8, 2019.[2]

JSW Infrastructure acquired the terminal company in December 2020. The facility is now operated by Mangalore Coal Terminal Private Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Infrastructure.[2] The fully mechanized terminal handles coal as well as limestone, gypsum and fertilizers.[3]
