Navlakhi Shreeji Shipping Coal Terminal is an operating coal and bulk-cargo terminal at Navlakhi Port in Morbi district, Gujarat, India. The terminal is owned and operated by Shreeji Shipping Private Limited.
It is one of four separately operated coal-handling jetties within the Navlakhi Group of Ports. The other facilities are the Navlakhi GMB Coal Terminal, Navlakhi United Shippers Coal Terminal and Navlakhi Jaydeep Associates Coal Terminal.[1]
Location
The port is situated in Hansthal Creek at the southwestern end of the Gulf of Kutch.
Background
Shreeji Shipping operates a private jetty within the Navlakhi port area. Environmental documents describe the jetty as approximately 163 metres long and 25 metres wide, with an alongside draft of approximately two to four metres. Coal is unloaded from barges using excavators or other shore-based handling equipment. It is transferred to open storage areas before being dispatched to inland customers.[2]
The Gujarat Maritime Cluster reports an annual capacity of 1.8 million tonnes for the Shreeji Shipping jetty.[1] The published figure represents total jetty capacity; a separate coal-only capacity has not been identified.
